William Albert "Bill" Cowell

Funeral services for William Albert “Bill” Cowell, 67, of College Station will be held Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Mr. Cowell was born October 3, 1947 in Galveston to William Albert Cowell, Sr. and Dorcas (Wandless) Cowell, and died January 8, 2015 in Temple, Texas. Mr. Cowell formerly resided in Nacogdoches and Lufkin. He served as a college minister for The Church of College Station and was a member there. He grew up in the Waco area and later moved to Nacogdoches where he worked for Nacogdoches Savings and Loan for many years. He later moved to College Station where he resided prior to his death. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Kyle Monson of Lufkin and Carrie and Adrian Windham of Zavalla; grandchildren, Jordan and Jared Ray, Meghan and Kaylin Monson and Tyler and Lauren Windham; sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and J.I. Muhl of Prairie Hill, and sister Susan Odgen of Waco; brother, Loring Cowell of Waco; numerous nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Bummy”. Mr. Cowell was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorcas Wren. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
