Funeral services for Jack Calcote Simpson 82, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church Henderson Chapel with Reverend Nick Sholars officiating. Private interment will be in the Riser Cemetery in Ruston, Louisiana.
Mr. Simpson was born October 8, 1932 in Ruston, Louisiana to G. F. Simpson and Katie (Riser) Simpson, and died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at The Joseph House.
Mr. Simpson resided in Lufkin most of his life. He had worked at Perry Brothers for more than forty years where he started as a stock boy and worked his way up to President. He was past President of the Lufkin Noon Lions Club, President of the Lufkin High School Band Boosters, an active Shriner and Mason where he served for 50 years. He was a First Lieutenant in the Army, having served in Korea during the Korean War. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lufkin.
Survivors include his Sweet Love, LaJune Bradley of Lufkin; sons, Calcote Simpson and wife Terri of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Scott Simpson and wife Mary of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Molly Simpson Ellis and husband John of Lufkin, and John Simpson of Cleveland; Grandchildren, Cade Simpson, Trevor Simpson, Molly Simpson, Tyler Simpson and wife Sandy, Curtis Simpson, Emma Ellis Mair and husband Tyler, Spencer Ellis, Jack Ellis, Katie Simpson and Wyatt Simpson; Great-grandchildren, Holden Mair and Nathan Simpson; brothers, Glen Simpson and wife Jean of Grand Prairie, twin James Simpson and wife Sylvia of Austin, William “Bill” Simpson and wife Barbara of Austin; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Emma Kaylene Simpson, and his wife, Emma Hudnall Simpson.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Simpson’s grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Curtis Haley, Dr. Bob Garrett, Woody Gann, Judge David Walker, John Woodside, Roger Mercer, Tucker Weems, Roscoe Ivy, Billy Jackson, and his former co-workers from Perry Brothers.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
