Cleo Jean Moore

Graveside services for Cleo Jean Moore, 81, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Yancey officiating.

Mrs. Moore was born March 7, 1933 in Morton, Texas to Albert L. and Lucy (Tarwater) Green, and died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at home.

Mrs. Moore had resided in Lufkin for 42 years. She retired from the Burke Center following 22 years of employment. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and was a member of the Lufkin Quilt Guild. She loved her family and the Lord. She traveled all over the U.S. and Canada with her husband and daughters while he served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Mrs. Moore was a musician and played the mountain dulcimer. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful singing voice. She was a member of the Lufkin First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Richard Wars of Possum Walk and Laura and Van Bush of Huntington; grandchildren, Katherine Sage Whiting, Kristi Lowery and husband Charles, Rickey Wars and wife Denice, and Brandan Bush and wife Mandi; great-grandchildren, Matthew Lowery, Brooke Wars, Whitney Lowery, Kyle Wars, Dillon Hance and wife Olivia, Mikala Hance, and Avery Bush; great-great-grandsons, Cody Hance and Jase Hance; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Freddie Crothers and Bonnie and Gavin Morris, all of San Diego, California; special friend, Fate Murphy of Lufkin; caretaker and friend from Visiting Angels, Carolyn Tucker; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert E. Moore; two sisters; and four brothers.
