Funeral services for Mary Vivian Modisette, 80, of Allentown will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Newton, Brother Richard Joseph and Brother Shane Scroggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery. Mrs. Modisette was born July 26, 1934 in Livingston, Texas to the late Jerome Kirby and Patience Lavinia (Collins) Moye, and died Friday, December 19, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Modisette graduated from Big Sandy High School in Dallardsville, Texas. She had resided in the Allentown Community for 60 years. She was an upholstery seamstress, and owned Vivian’s Upholstery for many years. Mrs. Modisette had been a member of the Allentown Congregational Methodist Church for more than 30 years, and had been a board member there for many years. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Deb Modisette of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Michael Crenshaw of Bedford and Myran and Rudy Fudge of Lufkin; grandchildren, R.D. Modisette of Euless, David Modisette and wife Heather of Lufkin, Bryan McMurray and wife Jessica of College Station, Doug McMurray and wife Angela of Fort Worth, Justin McMurray of Bedford, Krystal Fudge of Lufkin, Catherine Husby and husband Kirk of Grapevine, Sara LeBlanc and husband Cliff of Arlington, and Allen Crenshaw and wife Alyssa of Portland, Oregon; great-grandchildren, Aspen Modisette, Gunnar Modisette, Asher Modisette, all of Lufkin, Jensen McMurray, Jorden McMurray, Jaeden McMurray, all of College Station, Madeline Husby, Brandon Husby, both of Grapevine, and Julia LeBlanc of Arlington; sisters, Novia McKinney of Woodville and Irene Milner of Livingston; sister-in-law, Frances Gill of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph Modisette in 2005; son, George “Pete” Modisette; brothers, Thomas Moye and Earl Moye; and sister, Lorene Baker. Pallbearers will be David Modisette, Bryan McMurray, Doug McMurray, R.D. Modisette, Wendell Morris and Tommy Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be Krystal Fudge, Justin McMurray, Kinnon Modisette and Robert Benton Dunn. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
