Funeral services for Donald G. “Streak” Allen, 61, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Cary Modisett and Brother Ron Fant officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Gilbert Chapel Cemetery under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Allen was born September 6, 1953 in Newton, Texas to Buford and Amma Louise (Herrin) Allen, and died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at The Joseph House in Lufkin. Mr. Allen was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and a Lufkin High School graduate. At one time he was the manager of Burton Eggs Farm, but his love was selling cars or driving 18 wheelers, where he never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He had most recently worked for J.B. Hunt Transport. He had driven trucks for McAllister Trucking, Andrews Trucking, G.P. Bourrous Trucking, and J & N Trucking. Mr. Allen had sold cars for Archie Pinner, Emil Jones, Lufkin Motors, Beaver Chevrolet, Southern Chrysler Dodge and Ray Neal Auto. Mr. Allen was a member and past Master of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Allen of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Alisha Allen and Dee and Dedrah Allen, all of Lufkin; daughter, Cessali Strickland of Lufkin; grandchildren, Seth Allen, Weston Allen, Alyssa Allen, Jameson Allen, Jayleigh Allen, Anaestyn Allen and Cason Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Paul Jeane of Nashville, Tennessee; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Kathy Allen of Diboll; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Carrie Walker of Jacksonville and Gene Walker of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mellowayne and Clell Davis of Nogalus Prairie; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Louise Allen; and parents-in-law, Marlin and Birdie Lee Walker. Pallbearers will be Mike Neal, Terry Witt, Jac Catton, Dennis Phillips, Charles Murphy, Ed George, Ray Randolph, and Aaron Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M., and the men of Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to The Joseph House, P.O. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
