Virginia Corder Stone

Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Corder Stone, 88, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Gavin Vaverek officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Stone was born March 22, 1926 in Athens, Texas to Lewis Ammuel and Claudia Beatrice (Lanier) Corder, and died Saturday, December 6, 2014 in a local hospital.

A former resident of Conway, Arkansas, Mrs. Stone had resided in Lufkin for 35 years. She loved to sew and enjoyed working in her yard. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and David Young of Huntington, Deborah and Emil Charanza of Pollok, Patricia and Frank Green of Edgewater, Florida, and Steva and Larry Joe Robertson of Amity, Arkansas; sons and daughters-in-law, David Stone of Lufkin, James L. and Joyce Stone of Storey, Arkansas, and Howard E. and Nicole Stone of Huntington; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Billie Liles of Tyler; brother-in-law, Kenneth Liles of Tyler; numerous other relatives and friends; and DeeDee and HoneyBun.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 55 years, James Stone.

Pallbearers will be Charlie, Chris, Joey, David, Stephen, Michael and Blaze.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
