Delinda Thompson Harris

A Celebration of Life for Delinda Thompson Harris, 71, of Pollok will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Simpson Cemetery with her granddaughter, Shieva Case, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harris was born September 22, 1943 in Lufkin, Texas to Earl Edward and Doffie Revena (Goodwin) Thompson, and died Friday, December 5, 2014 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Harris had resided in Pollok for 15 years, after living in Highlands for a number of years. She was an avid reader, and was passionate about family history and the family cemetery, Simpson Cemetery. Mrs. Harris attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James Harris of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Ladonna and Troy Johnston of Fort Worth; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kelly Harris of Baytown; granddaughter Shieva Case and fiancé Ted Feldmeier of Houston; grandsons, Joshua Chase Harris of Baytown and Jared Johnston of Amarillo; brothers and sisters-in-law, M.L. “Pete” and Dena Thompson, C.L. and Janice Thompson, all of Lufkin, Earl “Bud” Thompson and Gary Thompson, both of Pollok; sisters and brother-in-law, Joy and James Hicks of Lufkin and Omie Brown of Pollok; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Grady “Dunk” Thompson and David Larry Thompson; sisters, Irene Gorham, Evelyn Marsh and Lurlene “Leny” Purdy; parents-in-law, Robert and Demie Harris; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Sue Thompson and Mary Jane Thompson.
