Funeral services for Georgia Lovevon Durham, 72, of Huntington will be held Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother George Durham officiating. Interment will follow in the Homer Cemetery.
Mrs. Durham was born June 30, 1942 in Piqua, Ohio to the late August and Cindarella (Perry) Maxon. She passed away early Saturday morning, December 6, 2014, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Durham was a homemaker and a loving minister’s wife. She enjoyed traveling and resale shopping, Goodwill, Second Blessings (thanks Claudia), and garage sales. She was of the Pentecostal faith, and had attended various churches in the area.
Survivors include her husband, George Durham; children, Rocky Hollingsworth, Vicky Sheffer, Aaron Hoke and wife Clarissa, and Darron Hoke and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Mason Hoke, Kylie Love Hoke, Cason Hoke, Bentley Hoke, Braydon Hoke, Jamie Marino, Natasha Burnette, Josh Pate, Alexia Torres and Haylen Torres; great-granddaughter, Gracie Hudson; brother, Doug Maxon; sisters, Angelina Gibson and Delores Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Maxon.
The family extends special thanks to nurse Debra Peterson and the Affinity Hospice; Debra said “she did it her way”.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning prior to the services.
