Ellen (Oliver) Cartwright

Funeral services for Ellen (Oliver) Cartwright, 80, of Wells will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Wells with Brother Horace Fletcher and Brother Fred Neal officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Cartwright was born January 2, 1934 in Angelina County, Texas to Jesse D. and Bertie (Cathey) Oliver, and died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Cartwright was a homemaker and seamstress. She owned and operated The Pin Cushion in Wells for many years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Wells for 53 years.

Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Jerri Gail Cartwright of Wells and Lisa Cartwright of San Augustine; granddaughters, Leah Cartwright of Houston and Veronica Cartwright, serving in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Greece; grandson, Jason Cartwright of San Augustine; and sister, Bernice Jacobs of Pollok.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Floyd Cartwright; children, Ronnie, Bryan and Debbie Cartwright; granddaughter, Kristen Cartwright; infant grandsons, Jeremy Wallace and Michael White; brothers, Elza, Melvin, Buster and James “Jack” Oliver; and sister, Opal Latham.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Oliver, Gary Latham, Steven Monday, Jeffery Jacobs, Stacy Seymore and Todd Pounds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Latham, Joey Oliver and Morris Oliver.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
