Funeral services for Thomas Rodgers, 45, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Brother Jeff Moats, Brother Charles M. Roberts, Brother Kevin Roy and Brother Ron Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Rodgers was born August 6, 1969 in Lufkin, Texas to Maurice and Doris Jean (Brookshire) Rodgers, and died Monday, December 1, 2014 in a local hospital.
Mr. Rodgers was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He graduated from Lufkin High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Sam Houston State University. He was currently employed at Academy Sports and Outdoors.
Mr. Rodgers loved his church, and had been a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church for 29 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and grilling hamburgers for his family.
Survivors include his mother, Doris Jean Rodgers of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Matt Strong of Lufkin; nephew, Hunter Strong of Lufkin; uncles and aunts, Johnny and Lela Rodgers of Mansfield, Pauline Bennett of Grapeland, Ray and Carolyn Brookshire of Hardin, and Doris Ann Rodgers of Hudson; and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Rodgers; brother, Danny Rodgers; uncles, Jimmie Rodgers and Robert Bennett; and cousin, Keith Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Matt Strong, Hunter Strong, Craig Williamson, Robert Drake, Johnny Long and Trent Troutman.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
