Ruby Joyce Redd Stokes Ferguson

Funeral services for Ruby Joyce Redd Stokes Ferguson, 80, of Hudson, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John W. Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Ferguson was born October 10, 1934 in Lufkin to John Wesley Redd and Hallie (Garrison) Redd, and died November 28, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Ferguson had resided in Hudson for 50 years. She was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. She loved attending her church and serving the Lord and being around friends and family. She was retired from Sears where she had worked as a new accounts manager. Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Pete Ferguson of Hudson; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sandi Stokes of Hudson, Mike and Teresa Stokes of Lufkin; step-daughter, Teresa Mitchell of Beaumont; grandson, Daryl Stokes of Diboll; grandsons and wives, Trey and Jennifer Stokes of Bald Hill and Ben and Melissa Stokes of Lufkin; granddaughters, Sirena Stokes of Diboll and BreAnn Stokes of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Beth and Philip Johnson of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Richardson, Lauryn Richardson, Jaylee Wilson, Landon Rector, Layla Rector, Brylee Stokes, Danyale Stokes, Austin Stokes, Sarah Kate Johnson, Julia Johnson, Ty Stokes; step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Courtney, Christy and Bryan Mitchell; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Woodrow Stokes, a step-daughter, Pat Mitchell, two brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Boles Small Group of Harmony Hill Baptist Church, which she loved to attend. Pallbearers will be Lyle Carpenter, Medford Havard, Jerry Sizemore, Don Wier, J. D. Clifton, and Ralph Groover. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Baker, Eddie Corbitt, Roy Griffey, Hilton Henson, Randy Nunley, Gene Rudd and Chuck Skinner. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines 1504 West Frank, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
