Funeral services for Glenn F. Havard, 77, of Zavalla, will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Zavalla with Brother Joel Hitchcock officiating. Interment will follow in the Tom Havard Cemetery.
Mr. Havard was born December 13, 1936 in Zavalla to Hillary Columbus Havard and Laura Francis (Boykin) Havard, and died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Havard resided in Zavalla most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching football and loved his dog Buster Brown. He had worked as a welder in the construction industry and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Darline Tucker of Zavalla; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Howze and Roy of Nederland, and Kathy Loftin and Craig Anglin of Zavalla; son and special friend, Dwayne Havard and Wanda Hollingsworth of Zavalla; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Virgil Havard and Doris of Zavalla; sister Bonnie Ainsworth of Zavalla; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Mr. Havard was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jo (Hodge) Havard; son-in-law Howard Earl Tucker; son, Danny Glenn Havard; daughter-in-law Elaine Cooper; grandson, Danny Wayne Havard; and great-granddaughter, Zaney Lynn Martin.
Pallbearers will be Louis Gantz, Daniel Kahle, Michael West, Joseph Dwayne Havard, Adam Cooper Havard, James Martin, Kenny Ferguson, and Paul Hardy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Havard and Billy Franklin.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Huntington.
