Benny Carroll Brashear

Memorial services for Benny Carroll Brashear, 74, of Huntington will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ora Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Adrian Neal officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Brashear was born November 29, 1939 in Diboll, Texas to Johnnie Marion and Wilmath Ollie (Warner) Brashear, and died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in a local hospital.

Mr. Brashear had resided in Huntington for the past 20 years. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and retired from Dean’s Meat Market, where he was a butcher and manager. Mr. Brashear loved fishing and gardening, and enjoyed having fish fry’s and family gatherings. He was a member of the Ora Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Brashear of Fairview; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Charlene Brashear of Lafayette, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Betty Brashear of Orange and Rose Segrest of Huntington; and a host of special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sister-in-law, Tip and Louise Brashear and Snookie Brashear; and twin brothers, Robert and Baby Brashear.
