True to the name given her by her parents, “Oma,” the German word for “grandmother,” found her greatest pleasure in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the delight of her life, and she enjoyed spending as much time as possible with both generations of her cherished Grands , taking them on several memorable trips throughout the years of her retirement and making her home always available to them.

She is survived by three children, Johnny Futch and his wife, Pat; Joan Futch and Lyle Witherell; and Jan Futch and her husband, Walter. Her grandchildren are Robin Futch, Randy Futch, Renda Miller and her husband, Wes. Great-grandchildren are Blake Ponson, Lincoln Miller, Lexington Miller, Lochren Miller and Loxleigh Miller. Her family requests that any who desire to leave memorial gifts in her honor consider the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, Lufkin’s Salvation Army Adult Day Care Center, or the Christian fellowship or charity of personal choice. Also, Heart to Heart Hospice gave our mother excellent and compassionate care during her last week of life, and we wish to extend our sincere gratitude to her team of nurses.
