Dorothy Ann Weatherford

Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Weatherford, 80, of Burke will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Myrton Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Weatherford was born July 5, 1934 in Hollandale, Mississippi to Richard W. and Geneva (Ray) Davis, and died Saturday, November 8, 2014 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Weatherford was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, loved to cook, and collected cookbooks, dolls and bears. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Diboll, where she had taught Sunday School and Children’s Church.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Billy Weatherford of Burke; son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Patty Weatherford of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Hector Coria of Lufkin; granddaughters, Chasity Archer and husband Ricky of Diboll and April Cheek and husband Doyle of Fort Worth; grandsons, Billy Jack Smith and wife Ashley of Tyler and Micah Weatherford of Fort Worth; great-grandsons, Justin Cheek, Joshua Cheek and Landon Smith; sister, Dot Skelton of Leland, Mississippi; sisters-in-law, Betty Grandgeorge, Janice Peebles, Faye Hill, all of Lufkin, and Joanne Davis of Greenville, Mississippi; special friend, Sarah Morris of Diboll; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Davis; father, Walter Davis; brother, Richard Davis; and sister, Louise Everett.

Pallbearers will be Damon Scoggin, Micah Weatherford, Ricky Archer, Vernon “Bubba” Skelton, Jr., Joshua Cheek, and Justin Cheek.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Mike Smith, Billy Jack Smith and Bradley Morris.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning prior to the services.
