A memorial service for Charles W. “Dubby” Perry, 67, will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Green officiating. Dubby was born November 14, 1946 in Austin, Texas and died November 6th at the Joseph House. Dubby loved and lived life to the fullest. He especially liked to be involved with his community. Through his lifetime he was President of the Lufkin Jaycees, President of Friends of Ellen Trout Zoo Board and President of Lufkin Host Lions Club. He also served on the boards of Kurth Foundation and Salvation Army. He was a long time member of the Square Shooters cooking group. Dubby was also a charter member of Christ Congregational Church. Dubby was the last Perry to work for Perry Brothers five and dime stores. He was co-owner of Peco Oil Company where he was the Shell Jobber for Lufkin and surrounding counties. After closing the oil company, he went to work for Chandler Law Offices as their videographer. After his retirement, he had the most fun job of all, as he did deliveries for Lufkin Printing Company. Survivors include his wife, Judy, mother-in-law Flo Wood, sister and brother-in-law Suzy and Darrell Durham, brother Page Perry, and several nieces and nephews. Dubby was preceded in death by his parents, Falcor W. Perry and mother Rachel Perry Dowling.
