Funeral services for Georgia Mae “Ma” Stewart Lemen, 81, of Huntington will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Dr. Charles Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Cochran Cemetery.
Mrs. Lemen was born November 15, 1932 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to George Milton and Mary Philanie (Walker) Stewart. She succumbed to cancer Thursday, October 23, 2014 at The Joseph House.
Mrs. Lemen had resided in Huntington for 33 years. She contributed to the area through the American Hemerocallis Society and the Eastern Star. She served as a courier to Absolute Services for the last 12 1/2 years where she became affectionately known as Ma.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Robbie Paramore of Huntington; grandson, Dorian Christopher of Nashville, Tennessee; great-grandson, Leo Christopher of Houston; sister, Betty Hughes of Huntington; a number of nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion and granddog, Dottie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mae Stewart; husband, Paul O. Lemen; daughter, Pauline Lemen; partner, Charles R. Paramore, Sr.; brother, Carroll Stewart; and sister, Norma Burrous.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Joseph House, P.O. Box 150554, Lufkin, Texas 75915.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday morning prior to the services.
