Earl Ray Havard

Funeral services for Earl Ray Havard, 83, of Hudson will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Swain Barker, Brother Kenneth Adaway and Brother Calvin Kersh officiating. Interment will follow in the Narrow Way Cemetery. Mr. Havard was born December 29, 1930 in the Manning Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Obd and Ruthie Bell (Grimes) Havard, and died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Havard was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. He was a 1948 graduate of Zavalla High School and was a carpenter. Mr. Havard was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Colmesneil. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Joyce Havard of Hudson; daughters, Dee Moser and fiancé James Howard of Lufkin; Lera Windham and husband Dwayne of Diboll, Tera Dixon and husband Larry of Pollok, and Bridget Roome and husband Paul of Houston; sons, Trubon Lee and wife Jennifer of Houston, Ricky Havard and wife Susie of Carrollton, and Mike Havard and wife Madeline of Louisiana; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Medford Havard and wife Alice of Lufkin, Morgan Havard and wife Joyce of Navasota, and Buddy Landrum and wife Polly of Richardson; uncle, Otto Grimes of Round Rock; his Boston Terrier, “Patch”; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be James Howard, William Moser, Larry Dixon, Dwayne Windham, Trubon “Bubba” Lee and Paul Roome. Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Crawford, Dink Crawford, Delbert Renfro and Pat Tomez. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
