James (Jim) Fuller

Services for James (Jim) Fuller, 82, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church with Dr. John Greene officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Fuller was born December 27, 1931 in Dawkins, South Carolina to the late Lottie (Dehihns) and Willie Lee Fuller. He died Saturday, October 4, 2014 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Fuller was a retired civil engineer for the U.S. Forest Service following 32 years of service, and had lived in Lufkin for 37 years. He was a godly man with a true servant’s heart. Mr. Fuller served 18 years with Mission Service Corp. in Montana. After returning to Texas, he volunteered with SBTC Disaster Relief for seven years. He was a member and deacon of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Fuller was a gentle man who was devoted to his family. He served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mildred Fuller of Lufkin; daughters, Carol A. Holmes of Lufkin, Mary Henson and husband Hilton of Diboll, and Debra Bellamy of Lufkin; son, David Fuller and wife Joy of Lufkin; grandchildren and their spouses, Christina Burkhalter, Charity Fuller, Tenisha and Gary Pierce, Jessica and Jimmy Renteria, Holly Fuller, April and Brian Maddox, William Allen, Charles Holmes, and Carmen Holmes; fifteen great grandchildren; brother, Herman R. Fuller; sister, Louise Joles; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Fuller; and eight brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Brian Swetnam, Gary Pierce, Mark Crager, Larry Bonner, Adam Pedrotti, and Wayne Barber.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Ford, the Deacons of Harmony Hill, and the SBTC Disaster Relief teams.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
