Funeral services for Marvin Floyd, 67, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Livingston officiating. Interment will follow in the Aldredge Cemetery. Mr. Floyd was born January 6, 1947 in Henderson, Texas to Marvin and Opal (Armstrong) Floyd, and died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Floyd had resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Southland (Abitibi) Paper Mill. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Sally Floyd of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Bryan Byrd, Rhonda and David Redd, Carla and Jon Cheatham, all of Pollok, Lisa and Jason Vincent of Wells, Tamara Allen of Kingwood, and Teresa and Doug Erbey of Etoile; sons and daughters-in-law, Colby and Colleen Denby of Beaumont and Charles and Angie Lovett of Huntington; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; mother, Opal Floyd of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Phillips, Sharon and Woody Havard, all of Lufkin and Kay and Kenneth Simmons of Huntington; brother, Delbert Floyd of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
