Funeral services for Linda Murphy, 62, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 12:00 noon, in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Timpson, Texas. Mrs. Murphy was born July 28, 1952, in McCook, Nebraska, to Robert A. and Ira Belle (Shires) Salser, and died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in a local hospital. Although Mrs. Murphy grew up in Timpson, Texas, she resided in Lufkin for the last 43 years. She was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Chestnut Drive Baptist Church, and she lived out her love for Christ Jesus daily. Survivors include her husband, Jesse Murphy of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Connie Murphy of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Chris McNabb of Longview; grandchildren, Colin McNabb, Jamin Murphy, Jesse Murphy, Kenly McNabb and Carson McNabb; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Salser of Manvel; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers will be Robert Murphy, Chris McNabb, Colin McNabb, Jamin Murphy, Jesse Murphy, Matt Crisp and Carson McNabb. Honorary pallbearer will be Mason Crisp. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas, 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
