Roger Paul Kitchens

Funeral services for Roger Paul Kitchens, 70, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Fenley officiating. Interment will follow in the Kitchens Cemetery. Mr. Kitchens was born May 21, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas to Billie Jewell (Winthrop) and Van Nathan Kitchens, Sr., and died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Kitchens served in the U.S. Army and had worked as an electrician for Lufkin Industries. He loved being outside and going fishing and hiking. He played the guitar and harmonica, and enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Erin Nudd and husband David of Bridge City; stepsons, Hunter Little and wife Jennifer and Reese Little and wife Laranda, all of Dallas; grandchildren, Ayden, Tristan and Tara Nudd, Rachel, Rebecca and Jonathan Little, Zeb and Zachary Little; brothers, Van Nathan Kitchens, Jr., Danny Kitchens, Billy Joel Kitchens and Michael Kitchens; sisters, Linda Schanfish and Susie Carlisle; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dianna Allen and Verna Worley; and brother, Lawrence Kitchens. Pallbearers will be David Nudd, Reese Little, Hunter Little, Jay Allen, Zeb Little and Zachary Little. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
