Betty Delaney Gandy

Funeral services for Betty Delaney Gandy, 81, of Lufkin, formerly of Broaddus, will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Broaddus with Dr. Wayne Barth officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery in Lufkin.

Mrs. Gandy was born August 23, 1933 in Angelina County, Texas, to the late Bossie Bea (Loving) and Mart Delaney. She died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at The Joseph House.

Mrs. Gandy was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She had resided in Broaddus since 2003, and previously lived in Waynesboro, Georgia for more than 30 years. Mrs. Gandy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Broaddus. She had an associate degree in Business from the University of Houston.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Billy Charles Gandy of Lufkin; her children and their spouses, Buddy and Garie Lee Gandy of Lufkin, Lesa and Jim Bailey of Colleyville, Donald L. and Julie Gandy of Waynesboro, Georgia, and Chari and J.R. Riggs of Waynesboro, Georgia; grandchildren and spouses, Lesli and Chad Figueiredo of Keller, Jake and Lauren Bailey of Fort Worth, Colby Gandy, Connor Gandy, Chris and Selena Riggs, Josh and April Riggs, and Chad Riggs, all of Waynesboro, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, M.C. and Jo Delaney of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mrs. Gandy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maxine Allen.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bailey, J.R. Riggs, Jake Bailey, Chad Figueiredo, Colby Gandy, Chuck Reeves, and Connor Gandy.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
