Funeral services for Melva Modisette, 74, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Scroggins officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.
Mrs. Modisette was born July 8, 1940 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Cora (Brookshire) and Andrew Brevell. She died Sunday, September 7, 2014 in a Lufkin hospital.
Melva was retired from Sears where she worked a number of years as the manager of the service department. She was a member of Allentown Congregational Methodist Church. Melva enjoyed cooking and helping others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dearly loved her family and retired to stay home to care for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Kinnon Modisette of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Sharon Modisette, Ronnie and Kellie Modisette, all of Lufkin; grandchildren and their spouses, Meagan and Jay Leclaire of Alto, Amber and Jeremy Parrott, Blake Modisette, and Logan Modisette, all of Lufkin; great granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Leclaire of Alto; special friends, Bo and Peggy Williford of Lufkin, Dennis and Judy Daniels of Clarksville, Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Brevell; and sister, Marcelene Murrell.
Pallbearers will be Blake Modisette, Logan Modisette, Jay Leclaire, Jeremy Parrott, Mack Modisette, Greag Modisette, Timothy McCoy, and Scott Williford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allentown Congregational Methodist Church, 2339 FM 843, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
