Kathryn Morton Lain

Funeral services for Kathryn Morton Lain, 83, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Charles M. Roberts officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Beulah Baptist Cemetery, 3417 Highway 481, Mansfield, Louisiana, with Brother David Permenter officiating.

Mrs. Lain was born September 28, 1930 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Pauline (Norris) and James Millard Morton, Sr., and died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in a local nursing home. She had resided in Lufkin since 1990.

Mrs. Lain was a graduate of Oak Grove High School, DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. Most of her working career was in the medical field as a Lab Technician before working as a Coordinator of Contracts with United Gas Pipeline. Mrs. Lain was a member of the Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, David Delouche of Houston; grandsons, Adam Delouche and wife Lexi of Houston and Shawn Delouche of Little Rock, Arkansas; great-grandson, Garrett Randle of Houston; sisters, Johnnie Stennett of Littleton, Colorado, Raye Gamble of Grand Cane, Louisiana, Doris Meredith, Martha Sayers and Frances Norwood, all of Mansfield, Louisiana; brother, Bill Morton of Mansfield, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as Madge Worsham Morton, who raised her after the death of her mother; husbands, Glenn Delouche and Bill Lain; brother, Dr. James M. Morton, Jr.; and sister, Helen Elliott.

Pallbearers will be Joe Sayers, Bill Morton, Bryan Norwood, Charles Rogé, Adam Delouche and Shawn Delouche.
