Clyde W. Loftin

Funeral services for Clyde W. Loftin, 80, of Groveton will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Hooks Cemetery in Kountze. Mr. Loftin was born June 8, 1934 in Vidor, Texas to Arthur Clyde and Aurelia (Hemmingway) Loftin, and died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in a local nursing home. Mr. Loftin had resided in Groveton for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. He loved to dance, was an avid coon hunter, and loved to work his cattle on his land. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Laura Loftin; seven children; two stepchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jessie and Betty Loftin; sister, Arlene Watts; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning prior to the services.
