James (Skip) Fox

James (Skip) Fox departed this life on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday afternoon, August 31, 2014, at the family’s home near Zavalla. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Fox was born October 21, 1942 in Turkey Creek, Louisiana, to the late Helen (Buckmaster) and James L. Fox.

Mr. Fox was a retired social worker for the State of Alaska following 35 years of service with both state and federal agencies. He had resided in Zavalla for the past nine years and previously lived in Douglass, Texas.

Survivors include his wife of nine years, Sherry Fox of Zavalla; son, James A. Fox of Pineville, Louisiana; and sister, Leslie A. Fox of Grand Prairie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
