Funeral services for Ivy J. Collins III, 46, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Sr. Pastor D. Nick Sholars officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in Berry Cemetery under the auspices of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Collins was born November 8, 1967 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Monday, August 25, 2014 in Huntington, Texas.
Mr. Collins traveled extensively throughout the world with his job as a field service technician for Philadelphia Gear and Lufkin Industries. Mr. Collins served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M. He loved to play golf and fish, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Berry Collins of Lufkin; daughter, Emily Collins of Lufkin; father, Ivy Collins, Jr. of Huntington; sisters and brother-in-law, Becky and Spencer Booth of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Toni Collins-Macias; mother-in-law, Lynn Berry of Lufkin; father-in-law, Joe Berry of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jason and Stephanie Berry of Lufkin; as well as numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Collins; brother, Kenny Collins; and grandparents, Ivy, Sr., and Elizabeth Collins.
Pallbearers will be Masons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Water Is Life-Haiti Project in care of the First United Methodist Church, 805 E. Denman Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
