Mark Lawrence

Funeral services for Mark Lawrence, 62 of Lufkin will be held Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Pastor Leo Lytle officiating. Interment will follow the services.

Mr. Lawrence was born October 9, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to Roy Lee and Pauline (Arnold) Lawrence, and died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Lawrence was a graduate of Lufkin High School and received his degree and teaching credential in 1977 from Stephen F. Austin State University. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman from 1972-1975. He worked as an art teacher, owned his own business, worked in sales and as a police officer. Mr. Lawrence was a prolific artist and an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by his son, Barry Michael Lawrence, age 22 and daughter, Morgan Kay Lawrence age 17.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Pauline Lawrence; and brother, G. Michael Lawrence.
