Danny Lee Spangler

Funeral services for Danny Lee Spangler, 54, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Louie Lawson and Nikki Brunk, Past Commander of the D.A.V. Auxiliary, officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Mr. Spangler was born January 19, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Doris (Lee) and Joe Leon Spangler, Sr., and died Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Lufkin. Mr. Spangler was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. He was a heavy equipment operator for Crockett Sand and Gravel. Mr. Spangler was Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary for two years. He loved his family, was an animal lover, and enjoyed visiting with friends. He loved going to Lancewood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Terry Spangler of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Justin Wilson of Lufkin; grandchildren, Alexis Wilson and Jordan Wilson, both of Lufkin; father, Joe Spangler, Sr. of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Connie Spangler of Longview, James Spangler of Houston, Michael and Tina Spangler of Bryan and Joe, Jr. and Lori Spangler of Central; mother-in-law, Shirley Gentry of Lufkin; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris (Lee) Spangler. Pallbearers will be Jason Rawlinson, Timmy Custner, Tony Harris, Ty Risby, Stan Hankins and Andy Hankins. The family extends special thanks to Dr. James Caskey, Dr. Munir Ahmad, Dr. Darry Meyer, Affinity Hospice, and Margie Gandy for their care of Mr. Spangler. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
