Gertie David Duncan Jones

Funeral services for Gertie Davis Duncan Jones, 92, of Trinity, will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the Friendship Harbor Church in Sebastopol with Pastor Reagan Duncan and Reverend John Budd officiating. Interment will follow in the Chita Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was born May 11, 1922 in the Nogalus Prairie Community of Trinity County, Texas to Jessie William and Ola Dee (Evans) Davis, and died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at her son’s residence.

Mrs. Jones had resided in Trinity for more than 35 years. She had worked for Perry Brothers and Baskins. She was a very good seamstress, a great cook, and was a fun person to be with. Mrs. Duncan loved going to church. She was a member of the Friendship Harbor Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Aileen Duncan of Trinity; grandchildren, Reagan and Earlene Duncan, Cody and Lee Ann Duncan, Lavinia and Mark Bollier, Brandi Rogers, Leah Lee and Bethany Tyree; great-grandchildren, Garrett Duncan, Brittini Breseé, Tyler Duncan, Jayden Bollier, Levi Duncan, Gracie Duncan, Chloe Duncan, Kate Rogers, Laura Rogers, Courtney, Kara and Amber Lee, and Danielle Tyree; great-great-grandchildren, Levi and Laci Breseé; sister and brother-in-law, Delma and Hardy Barr; sister-in-law, Flossie Davis; brother-in-law, Buck Faussett; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harvey Duncan and Ray Jones; son, Harvey Lynn Duncan; brothers, Edward Davis and Ray Davis; and sisters, Dorothy Brittingham and Hattie Faussett.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Riggs, Brandon Riggs, Mike Utley, Ray Barr, Daryl Orsak and Clyde Moser.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon Saturday morning prior to the services.
