Robert Glen Simmons

Robert Glen Simmons, 79, of Lufkin, was born on March 19, 1935 in Orange, Texas. He died Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Lufkin, Texas.

Mr. Simmons was the son of Raford Gilbert Simmons and Linadine Smith Simmons. He graduated from Lufkin High School and from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor of science degree. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was also a Merchant Marine in the 1950’s.

Mr. Simmons was an insurance salesman with Farmers Insurance for many years. He loved the Lord. He was a member of Carpenter’s Way Baptist Church.

A special thank you goes to Southland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lufkin for the care they gave Mr. Simmons over the last several years of his life, and to Bob Harbuck and Heart 2 Heart Hospice for their care given him over the last few days of his life.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
