Tommy Stanley

Funeral services for Tommy Stanley, 45, of Zavalla will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Tom Havard Cemetery.

Mr. Stanley was born July 1, 1969 in Lufkin, Texas to Kenneth and Sherry (Keely) Stanley, and died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in a local hospital.

Mr. Stanley was a lifetime resident of Zavalla. He was a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching his son and grandson play baseball. He loved his grandchildren more than anything. Mr. Stanley attended the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Karen Stanley of Zavalla; sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nichole Ponder and Tyler Stanley, all of Zavalla; daughter and fiancé, Brittany Ponder and Gary Ross of Zavalla; grandchildren, Kelcie Ponder, Kaysen Stanley and Kylie Ponder, all of Zavalla; parents, Kenneth and Sherry Stanley of Zavalla; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Jennifer Stanley of Zavalla; and a number of nieces nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and grandson, Kenley Ponder.

Pallbearers will be Danny Downey, Johnny Leviness, A.J. Stanley, Gary Ross, Brian Leviness and Devon Downey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shon Keely and William Dean Leviness.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.
