Charles Grayson

Funeral services for Charles Grayson, 73, of Wells will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church of Wells with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery under the auspices of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Grayson was born March 1, 1941 in Wells, Texas to Woodrow and Effie Irene (Chandler) Grayson, and died Monday, July 7, 2014 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Grayson was a lifetime resident of Wells. He retired from Abitibi Paper Mill following more than 30 years of employment. Mr. Grayson loved camping in his RV, going to bluegrass festivals, and traveling, especially with his family. He was a mason with the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Wells and the Sr. Men’s Sunday school class.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Rosalie Grayson of Wells; daughters, Jan James of Denver, Colorado and Lynanne Alsbrooks of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Chris Davis of Wells; son and daughter-in-law, Reece and Laurie Grayson of Wells; grandchildren, Jonathan Grayson, Dakota Grayson and wife Shawna, Jeffery Grayson, Hunter Grayson, Garrett Rogers, Luke Alsbrooks, Miranda Alsbrooks, Cory Davis, Coleman Davis, Holly Davis, Hope Davis, Angela Montgomery and Diana Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Weston Grayson, Gauge Grayson, Skye Grayson, and Karlie Jo Davis; sister, Wanda Grayson of Houston; brother, Ronald Grayson; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Heinrich.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Grayson, Dakota Grayson, Jeffery Grayson, Hunter Grayson, Garrett Rogers and Luke Alsbrooks.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
