Memorial services for Carolyn Almand, 75, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Hiram Melton officiating. Private burial will be held in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Almand was born April 18, 1939 in Tenaha, Texas to Agnes (Peddy) and the late Ben Parker, and died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in a local hospital. She had resided in Lufkin for three years. Mrs. Almand was the Comptroller at Rayburn Country for 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bob Almand of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Almand and Tim and Tammy Almand, all of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Casi and Skyler Burchinal of Paris, Texas; grandson and wife, Cody and Christie Almand of Lufkin; great-granddaughters, Addisyn Burchinal and Alyvia Burchinal, both of Paris; a great-grandchild on the way; mother, Agnes Parker of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Frank Gardner of Katy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Lyndon and Raymonda Almand of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Pallbearers will be Bob Browning, Mark Mills, Ted Gardner, Bobby Parker, George Peddy, Bob Peddy, Matthew Almand and Mike Kelly.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
