Jimmy Juan Miller, Sr.

Jimmy Juan Miller, Sr., 73, of Lufkin, died on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his home. He was born July 15, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Vivian (Hargis) and John B. Miller, Sr. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller grew up in Lufkin, moved to Irving in 1972, and retired back to Lufkin in 1998. He was a retired truck driver for ABF Freight Dallas and a member of Teamster Local #745. Mr. Miller was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed going to the Little Sahara sand dunes with his sons and grandson. He also loved going to Colorado, watching football games, and watching PRCA bull riding, stemming from his earlier days as a PRCA bull rider.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy, Jr. and Laurie Miller of Irving; daughter, Sharon Annette Miller of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Lee and Kim Harper of Lufkin; son, Dwayne Keith Miller of Lufkin; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Buddy Bowden of Lufkin; and niece, Ashley Bowden of Colorado.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Nathan Harper.
