Lois Ruth Taylor

Funeral services for Lois Ruth Taylor, 90, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Sr. Pastor D. Nick Sholars officiating. Interment will follow the services.

Mrs. Taylor was born June 4, 1924 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Friday, June 6, 2014 in a local assisted living facility. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and a member of the First United Methodist Church Lufkin. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and attended all her sons’ sports activities.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years, George R. Taylor of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, M. Scott and Pat Taylor and Jeff and Cindy Taylor, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Robin Taylor, Laura Taylor, Jay Taylor and wife Jennifer, and Jamie Taylor; great-grandchildren, Brenden Taylor and Katelyn Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Taylor, Lindsey Taylor, Joseph K. Taylor, Butch Taylor, Mike Taylor, Dennis Johnston, Mike Davis, Mack Frazier and John Lee Slaughter.
