Memorial services for Terry L. Burroughs, 62, of Wells will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Falvey Memorial United Methodist Church in Wells with Pastor David Goodwin officiating. Private family burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Burroughs was born May 13, 1952 in Jacksonville, Texas to Bobbye (Trantham) and the late Roy D. Burroughs. He died Saturday, May 31, 2014 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
Mr. Burroughs was a graduate of Hudson ISD, Class of 1970. He was a certified Ford salesman and a previous sales manager for Anderson Ford in Cleveland, Texas. He also worked for the City of Wells as the Municipal Court Clerk. A resident of Wells for the past four years, Mr. Burroughs was a member of Falvey Memorial United Methodist Church. He was very active in the Wells Food Interfaith Pantry. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors.
Mr. Burroughs is survived by his daughter, Kayla Burroughs of Richmond, Texas; mother Bobbye Burroughs of Wells; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Randy Scott of Kingwood; nieces and nephews, Emily and Chris Rickman of Spring, Heather and Scott Pulaski of Springboro, Ohio, Bradley and Brooke Scott of Montgomery, and Andrew Scott of Kingwood; and special friend, Suzanne Massey of Jacksonville.
Mr. Burroughs was preceded in death by his father, Roy D. “Teny” Burroughs.
