Lucy Rodriguez

Mass of Christian Burial for Lucy Rodriguez will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Joe Kannampuzha and Deacon Gary Trevino, celebrants. Interment will follow in Berry Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rodriguez, 56, of Lufkin, was born December 5, 1957 in Lyford, Texas and died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her residence.

Lucy had been employed as a registration clerk in the office of the Angelina County Tax Assessor-Collector for five years. She was also a homemaker and a beloved, wife, mother, daughter and sister. Lucy enjoyed shopping, yard work, gardening and watching the Dallas Cowboys. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel Rodriguez, Jr.; daughters, Julieanne Rodriguez, and Roxanne Musick and husband Wesley; parents, Prajedis and Vincenta Cruz; brothers, Faustino Cruz and wife Linda, Lupe Cruz and wife Elaida, and Alex Cruz and wife Eva; sisters, Beatrice Salinas and husband Gilbert, Sofia Romo and husband Mike, and Emma Strait and husband George; her husband’s brothers and sisters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Manuel and Josephine Rodriguez.

Pallbearers will be Tino Cruz, Gualupe Cruz, Alex Cruz, Mike Romo, Jr., Marcos Rodriguez, and Armando Castillo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of the Infant Jesus, 1501 Lotus Lane, Lufkin, Texas 75904; or to Harbor Hospice, 2450 N. Major Dr., Beaumont, Texas 77713.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
