Funeral services for William “Bill” Martin, 77, of Crockett, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastor Elton Musick and Pastor Maynard Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.
Mr. Martin reached his Heavenly Home Monday, May 19, 2014. He was born May 23, 1936 in Ratcliff, Texas and had lived in Crockett for the past 15 years, previously living in Lufkin since 1959. Mr. Martin was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a Pastor for 40 years having been ordained on September 5, 1974 and was currently the Pastor of Lake Baptist Church. Mr. Martin was a partner in and operated Lufkin Supply for 44 years.
Survivors include his wife and the love of his life for 55 years, Eva Martin of Crockett; sons, Randy Martin and wife Bonnie of Lufkin, Ryan Martin and wife Amanda of Crockett, Donnie Martin and fianceé Shawn Ortner of Alabama, and Ronnie Martin of Crockett; daughters, Tina Spangler and husband Michael, Sr. of Bryan and Nita Lloyd and husband Ron of Atlanta; grandchildren, Michael and DeAnza Spangler of Rowlett, Garrett and Jordana Spangler of Bryan, Cameron Lloyd of Dallas, Colton Martin of Alabama, Cameron Martin of Alabama, Luke Martin and fianceé Mia Moore of Lufkin, Will Ryan Martin of Crockett, Mason Randal Martin of Crockett, Kristina and Trey Parrish of Covington, Louisiana, Colbi and Ryan Battles of Alabama, and Grace Martin of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Naia Spangler of Bryan, Emmarie Parrish of Covington, Louisiana, and Kaitlyn Parrish of Atlanta; sisters, Wilma Smith of Lufkin and Annette Thompson of Rusk; sister-in-law, Linda Martin of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends and business associates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Martin, Sr. and Lela Mae (Rushing) Martin; brothers, Milton Martin, Sr., Otis Martin, Jr., A.G. Martin, and Morris Martin; and sisters, Janie Martin and Marie Merriwether.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home in Crockett and Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin.
