Funeral services for Betty Wright Kendrick, 77, of Hudson will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bob Harbuck officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Kendrick was born February 22, 1937 in Corrigan, Texas to Willie Martin and Lydia Louise (Turner) Wright, and went to be with her Heavenly Father Monday, May 19, 2014.
Mrs. Kendrick had resided in Lufkin for 47 years. Prior to starting her family, she was a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell. Mrs. Kendrick was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to sing, cook, read her Bible and go to church. She enjoyed helping others. Mrs. Kendrick was a member of Lufkin First Assembly of God Church. She attended services until she was unable to go due to her illness.
Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Horace W. “Ken” Kendrick of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Phyllis Kendrick of Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Letha and Tim Tullos of Lufkin; grandson, Zachary Kendrick and wife Ashley; granddaughter, Emily Kendrick; brothers and sister-in-law, Arnold Wright of Lufkin and Donald and Sandy Wright of Baytown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, J.C. and Sue Kendrick and Charles “Buck” and Leona Kendrick, all of Hudson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jonnie and Billy Pitts, Frances and Kenneth Ripley, Carolyn White, all of Hudson, Rita Wright, Charlotte Wright and Tommye Wright, all of Corrigan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, William and Letha Turner and E.W. and Udora Wright; brothers, Gerald, Earl, Edgar, Jerry, John and LeRoy Wright; nieces, Vickie Wright Frankens, Robin Wright Daley and Linda Kendrick Stout; nephew, Jerry “Bubba” Wright; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Tiny Kendrick; brothers-in-law, Donald Kendrick and John Kendrick, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Estelle Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wright, Chad Wright, Johnny Wright, Mike Wright, Donald Wright, John Kendrick, Charles Kendrick, and Alan W. Kendrick.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all who helped take care of Betty during the final days of her life.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
