Jeanie Padgett

Jeanie Padgett, 60, of Lufkin, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at her residence. There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Carroway Funeral Home. The funeral service and burial will be at a later date in Carrollton, Missouri.

Mrs. Padgett was born September 30, 1953 in Carrollton, Missouri to Margaret Ellen (Stice) Wheeler and the late Ivey Eugene Wheeler. She had resided in Lufkin since 1976. Mrs. Padgett worked as an ombudsman for the Deep East Texas Council of Government for 20 years. She was a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by her husband, Farrel Padgett of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Jen Padgett of Centennial, Colorado; daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Mark McGaughey of Hudson, April and Josh Romero of Austin; five grandchildren, Carter Romero of Austin, Eli McGaughey, Chandlyr McGaughey, Taylor Jordan, all of Hudson, and Mia Romero of Austin; mother, Margaret Ellen Wheeler of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Elena and Rickie Eisener of Carrollton, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene, and her brother, Roger Wheeler.
