Graveside services for Agnes Irene McKelvy, 97, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the Salem Cemetery in Bloomburg, Texas with Reverend Vernon Lummus officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hanner Funeral Home in Atlanta, Texas prior to the services.
Mrs. McKelvy was born October 29, 1916 in Alto, Texas, the daughter of William Jesse and Lou Ella (Green) Haley, and died Thursday, May 8, 2014 in Lufkin.
Mrs. McKelvy lived most of her life in Bloomburg, Texas where, she was a homemaker and active member of the First United Methodist Church of Bloomburg and the First United Methodist Church of Queen City. She moved to Lufkin in 2006 to be close to her son and family. Her husband of 60 years, K.P. “Dick” McKelvy, preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, K.P. “Bill” and Julia McKelvy of Lufkin; granddaughters and their families, Donna and Paul Cauley, Caroline and Julianne of Coppell and Beverly and Keith Varga, Russell and Paige of Round Rock; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Pallbearers will be Russell Varga, Keith Varga, Paul Cauley, Fred Meisenheimer and Mike Parks.
