Funeral services for Edwin Gail “Ferdy” Pinner, 77, of Huntington will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Bobby Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.
Mr. Pinner was born July 8, 1936 in Lufkin, Texas to Rube Andrew and Bonnie (Morehead) Pinner, and died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Pinner was a lifetime resident of Huntington. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and socializing on his front porch. Mr. Pinner was a friend to everyone, especially children and dogs. He attended Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Gay Lyons and husband Tom, Donald Driver, John Pinner and wife Cheryl, Cheryl Ellis, Berry Lynn Elmore, and Susan Driver; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Driver; brother, John Edison Pinner; and nephews, Ronald Driver and Michael Pinner.
Pallbearers will be Dan Driver, Andrew Driver, David Lyons, John Pinner, Claude Williams, and Ron Pope.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 4040 Harley Golden Road, Huntington, Texas 75949.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
