Graveside services for Evalyn Chancellor, 92, of Marshall, Texas will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the McKnight Cemetery in Nacogdoches County with Brother John Linton officiating.
Mrs. Chancellor was born on September 19, 1921 as Evalyn Etheredge in Leon County, Texas. She died Monday, April 21, 2014 at The Joseph House in Lufkin.
Mrs. Chancellor worked as a machinist for Hughes Tool for 37 years. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. A former resident of Marshall and Houston, she had resided in Lufkin for the past year and a half. Mrs. Chancellor was a member of West Conroe Baptist Church.
Evalyn is survived by her daughter, Sue Burns, and her son and daughter-in-law, John and Deborah Chancellor; grandchildren, Marissa Anderson, Michael Chancellor, Cory and Cody Burns; and great grandchildren, Caleb, Luke, and Eva Anderson, Dorian and Thaddeus Chancellor, Weston and Reagan Burns; sister, Betty Pfeffer; brother, James Etheredge; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Evalyn is preceded in death by her husband, Dolphus Chancellor; and her parents, Rueben and Lillie Etheredge.
Pallbearers will be John Chancellor, Michael Chancellor, Cory Burns, Cody Burns, Jeff Anderson, Rusty Evans, and Roy Evans.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Joseph House, P.O. Box 150554, Lufkin, Texas 75915.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.
