Funeral services for Ruth F. (Bryan) Nichols, 72, of Beaumont, will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Reverend Blake Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. Nichols was born September 12, 1941 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Lela (Lemley) and Luther Bryan. She died Sunday, April 6, 2014, in a Beaumont hospice facility.
Mrs. Nichols was a self-employed accountant and had lived in Beaumont for many years. She was a member of Cathedral in the Pines. Mrs. Nichols loved to sew, crochet, paint and travel.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Sparkman of Beaumont; son, Clifton Nichols of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Tiffany Crisp, Jamie and Josh Darling, Justin and Lindsey Nichols, Nicholas and Alyssa Crisp, and Corey Sparkman; eight great grandchildren; brother, Gordon Bryan of Huntington; sisters, Myrle McDonald of Huntington, Nell Crisp of Nacogdoches; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Waymon Bryan, Norman Bryan, and Roy Bryan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington Cemetery Association; P.O. Box 372, Huntington, Texas 75949.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones on Thursday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home in Huntington.
