Joy R. Massey, 81, of Lufkin died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Massey was born May 1, 1932 at Camp Nancy in Zavalla, Texas to Bertie Albert and Orleda Livilla (Barkley) Jordan. She had resided in Lufkin for 35 years. Mrs. Massey enjoyed playing guitar and loved her church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Massey of Lufkin; brother, Mabrey Jordan of Porter; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
