O'Dale Harper

Funeral services for O’Dale Harper, 57, of Diboll will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother A.L. King and Chaplain Dwayne Thornhill officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Harper was born January 16, 1957 in Diboll, Texas to Curtis Merl and Patsy Margarette (Gossett) Harper, and died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Diboll and was employed at Georgia Pacific. Mr. Harper was Captain of the Diboll Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Diboll United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Harper of Diboll; daughters, Jenna Harper of Diboll, Sonya Harper of Lufkin, Krystal Harper of Hudson and Chelsi Harper of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Ashley Harper of Florida; grandchildren, Austin Harper, Logan Harper, both of Florida, Magnolia Kennedy of Hudson, Makenzie Steveson, Shane Oehler, both of Lufkin, Tanner Harper of Florida and Irie Kennedy of Hudson; father, Curtis Harper of Diboll; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Joann Harper of Houston; sisters, Pameilia Bookout of Lufkin and Angelia Glass of Diboll; parents-in-law, Jeffery and Monica Nailling of South Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Pallbearers will be Randy Harper, Rykki Zoshak, Bobby Basham, Jr., Billy Valentine, Kent Harper, Keith Harper, Shon Laird and John Alvarez..

Honorary pallbearers will be his extended family, including all area firefighters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diboll Volunteer Fire Department, 400 Kenley Street, Diboll, Texas 75941.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
