Ezlee D. "Lee" Thompson

Funeral services for Ezlee “Lee” D. Thompson, Jr., 76, of Pasadena, Texas, will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Harold Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in Berry Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson was born May 26, 1937 in Murray, Oklahoma to the late Earnie and Ezlee Thompson, Sr. He died Thursday, March 20, 2014 in a Pasadena hospital.

Ezlee lived, worked and retired in Lufkin. He was a cowboy who loved to work with leather and play his guitar and harmonica. He also had a green thumb and loved to garden. In recent years, he and Sissie moved to Pasadena to be closer to family. Ezlee loved going to church. He was a member of Timberland Drive Church of Christ in Lufkin and recently, Southside Church of Christ in Pasadena.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dolores “Sissie” Thompson; brother, Clifford Thompson; sisters, Iona McNabb and Wanda Foster; sisters-in-law and their husbands, Rose Ann and Phillip Largent, Paula and Clifford Ely; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Thompson, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pauline and Joe Beaird.

Pallbearers will be Neal Ashworth, Scott Roberts, Joe Dan Penn, Mike Penn, Jerry Johnson and Christopher Roberts.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lee’s memory be made to the Luke Slatter Memorial Scholarship Fund at Hudson ISD or to the Burke Center in Lufkin.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
