Funeral services for Linda Vaie (Williams) Hopson, 71, of Zavalla will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Jacob Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Hopson was born February 11, 1943 in Leesville, Louisiana to the late L.C. and Vaie (Holsomback) Williams, and died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Hopson was a loving mother and grandmother. She spent her life cherishing each and every moment with family and friends. Mrs. Hopson was a retired employee of the U.S. Forest Service. She was a member of the Zavalla First Baptist Church and had been a resident of Zavalla most of her life. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Darla and Walter Cooper of Zavalla, Amanda and Gary Plunk of Simms, Linda Johnston of Zavalla, Sunny and Troy Day of Bridge City, and June Buell and special friend Danny Noel of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, William, Jr. and Stephanie Hopson of Woodville; grandchildren, Preston and Jami Cooper, Sarah Cooper, Justin Plunk, Katherine Plunk, Kaylea Johnston, Kody and Erin Johnston, Samantha and Steven Hinesley, Tapanga Williams, Candace, Chelsey and Dalton Buell, Callie, Hayden and Kaigen Hopson, and Daphne Chism; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Sammie Jerrell and Wanda Marshall and husband Joe; brothers, Roy Williams and wife Mary and Roger Williams and wife Linda; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hopson, Sr.; parents, L.C. and Vaie Williams; and brother, Douglas Williams. The family extends special thanks to granddaughter Kaylea Johnston for setting her life to the side and helping take care of our mother through her time of illness.
